What isn't there to like about auto shows? For us here at Volvo of the Triad, it gives us a glimpse into the future of automotive design. From up-coming production models to out of this world concepts, each show seems to offer it all.

This year's 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show was no exception. In fact, the show introduced us to one of the most impressive models we have seen, the eye-catching Volvo Concept Coupe. Its Unveiling was accompanied by an overwhelming number of highly anticipated vehicles from all corners of the industry. The Concept Coupe however captured the attention and desires of most. It was also named the top vehicle at the show by the editors at Autoblog, whom was at the event offering a digital play-by-play of the entire event via their website.

With so much buzz and positive energy directed at the new concept, Volvo executives are considering the possibility of making a limited production run. The vehicle was shown with a high-performance hybrid drivetrain consisting of a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor at the rear axle. This gave the Concept Coupe 400 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque. Analysts speculate the limited run would not feature the aforementioned drivetrain. Instead, Motor Authority predicts it to be available with a milder plug-in hybrid or a conventional gasoline engine.

As more information becomes available on the Volvo Concept Coupe, we will be sure to keep you posted here on the Volvo of the Triad blog. Until then, visit our dealership in Winston-Salem to view our inventory of new Volvo models inspired by concepts of the past.
