In the buildup to the Frankfurt Auto Show in early September, we here at Volvo of the Triad were filled with excitement. That's because we knew the reveal of the Volvo Concept Coupe would send the automotive world in to a tizzy, and Volvo would be basking in the limelight with one impressive ride.

Of course, that was us speculating. Now, we can say we were right. The two door plug-in hybrid is a sight to behold, with a low-slung hood, and a sweeping frame from front to back. Basically, the Concept Coupe will draw you in.

What's even nicer is that it is clear during the design process, Volvo wanted to pay homage to the P1800, the first vehicle that truly made a big impact for the automaker. The concept has some very sporty looks, and is set for big performance to the tune of a 2.0-liter supercharged turbo gas engine and an electric motor that combined produce 402 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

Beauty and brawn has been part of Volvo's identity for a long time, but this certainly brings it to the forefront, and we're happy to say it isn't the last of it, either. The automaker intends to reveal two more concepts, one of which is the all-new XC90, and will do so in the coming year.

Until then, we can enjoy the stylish, safe, and reliable new Volvo lineup in our Winston-Salem, NC showroom. Our team would be happy to answer any questions you might have, provide additional details, and arrange test drives at your convenience.
